Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our tents, installation process & project requirements

These FAQ cover the most common enquiries we receive from holiday parks, councils, eco retreats and private operators. If your question is not listed below, our team is available to help.

Do the tents require planning permission?

This depends on the local council. In many regions our tents are considered non-permanent structures. Clients are responsible for seeking local approvals.

Most tents will last 10 to 15 years depending on climate and conditions. Modular panels and replaceable flys allow for longer lifespans with straightforward maintenance.

Yes. The aluminium framing, Mega Anchor footings and three-layer roof system allow the tents to perform well in coastal, inland and high wind environments.

All tents, ensuites and decks are manufactured in Ballina, NSW, using local suppliers from across the Northern Rivers and wider New South Wales.

Pricing includes installation, a 3m x 4.5m ModWood deck, stairs, kitchenette (where applicable), and a mid-range bathroom ensuite depending on the tent model. Full specifications are available on our Products page.

Window placement, door materials and interior layouts can be adjusted within engineering guidelines. We work with each client to align the tent layout with their intended guest experience.

Mega Anchors replace traditional concrete footings, minimising environmental impact. They are driven into the ground and pull tested with a crane to determine the required structural depth, providing a strong foundation with minimal site disturbance.

Our in-house installation team travels to site and completes the full installation. Timeframes vary depending on the number of tents and site complexity.

A three tent installation generally takes one to two weeks. Larger projects are scheduled in stages.

Lead times start at 16 weeks for smaller orders and increase for larger installations. Timelines depend on project size and current production load.

Yes. We install premium split system air conditioning and heating in all tents with an ensuite.

Clients can choose a Standard Ensuite or an extended Honeymoon Ensuite with Standard, Mid or Luxury fittings. Both are built using Colorbond exteriors and appropriately tiled interiors.

Yes. Tents are manufactured in Ballina and transported by truck to the client’s location. Installation is completed by our experienced in-house team on site.

We have completed single tent installations and installed up to 20 at the same site. We recommend a minimum order of two units for project and transportation efficiency.

Our fire retardant shade fly has a 10 year UV warranty, the fly thread has a 15 year UV warranty and our PVC canvas carries a 5 year UV warranty. Warranty applies to materials supplied by Undercover Safari Tents only.
